KennyHoopla's New EP: A Journey Through Emotion
Cleveland native KennyHoopla has released a new EP titled conditions of an orphan//, produced by Zac Farro of Paramore and Mike Elizondo. This five-track collection delves into themes of grief, revenge, trauma, and love, pushing the boundaries of indie rock. Musically, the EP draws inspiration from the 2000s dance-punk and post-punk scenes, reminiscent of bands like New Order and Franz Ferdinand, yet infused with Kenny's unique emotional depth.
Kenny describes the EP as a reflection of his current state, focusing on the trauma of lost relationships and the impact of the music industry on his identity. He aims for listeners to experience a mix of sadness and joy, encouraging them to "dance while they cry." The title track, orphan//, pays homage to both his late mother and his feelings of loneliness, as he seeks a sense of belonging in life and in music.
Following the EP's release, Kenny is set to tour with Soft Play in the U.S. before embarking on his own headline shows in November.
