Megadeth Worth It
Megadeth is definitely worth going to see - some of the other bands in the 2022 tour, not so much.
They toured with In Flames, Trivium, and Lamb of God. In Flames and Trivium weren’t playing their best songs, but were both solid (especially on some of the few songs that were favorites). Trivium is annoying for fans who don’t want continual prodding for fan interaction. The lead singer continually tried to get bigger screams and movement, and it made me never want to see them live again. He did have charisma, though - probably from all the time on Twitch. Lamb of God is boring musically (in terms of variety and difficultly in their music), but have the most interesting visuals of all the bands performing. They have a large fan base that will dance and interact with every song. Their visuals and pyrotechnics made up for the music. Side note, the crowd in this tour is definitely leaning on the older end, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are less rowdy than the younger crowds.
Megadeth was solid. During all the other bands, there was circling in the mosh pit and crowd surfing. When Megadeth came on, you could almost describe the audience as respectful. Everyone stood (or sat) and just paid attention. They had their phones out and were singing to lyrics. Dave Mustaine was also really good vocally, as we were unsure how he’d sound after he had throat cancer.
*Note - if there is only one time on the ticket, that is the start time, not doors open. Our tickets only had one time and we missed the first couple songs, because we believed it to be the doors open time based on what we heard.
