Chicago - The Musical Niagara Falls Theatre reviews
Christie Brinkley's performance was DISASTROUS.
The Bad: Chicago was mediocre, mainly due to Christie Brinkley's performance. When Roxie, aka Christie "Can't Sing or Act" Brinkley, came on and we thought there was something wrong with her mic. Turns out, there was nothing wrong with her mic. She just has an awful voice. Furthermore, her stage presence is virtually non-existent. She's a beautiful woman, but I think she should stick to modeling. I had never seen a Broadway production before Chicago. If they are all cast this poorly, I haven't been missing out.
The Good: The supporting cast was great. Velma Kelly. Billy Flint. Amos Hart. Mama. Mary Sunshine. Especially Mary Sunshine. The band was great. I liked how we got to see the orchestra, versus having them hide behind the stage.
Unfortunately, the high points do not outweigh the low points. Or rather low point. I hope in the future the casting directors will cast those that can sing and dance, rather than cast someone who isn't fit for the role.
